Karen Lynn Stewart, age 63, of Smithfield, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. She was born January 8, 1962, to the late Leonard and Jessie (Hall) Brumett. Karen worked at the Steubenville Walmart for many years.
She was also a member of the Rush Run Community Chapel and was actively involved in her community with the Smithfield food pantry at the Smithfield Evangelical Friends Church. Karen was a devoted friend and well-loved family member. She adored her cats whom she leaves behind, Dusty and Ralphie.
In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by her uncle, Lawton Lee Brumett. Left to cherish her memory are her aunt, Gladys Brumett of Smithfield, cousins Brenda (Marc) Bozman of Steubenville, John (Penny) Brumett of Forney, TX, Pam (Stephen) Mossor of Dillonvale, and numerous other cousins.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date at the convenience of her family. To help with funeral expenses, memorial donations can be donated at the bottom of this page or by mailing a check to the funeral home. Schuetz Funeral Home is assisting the family.
