Karen Tietz

Karen Tietz, age 81, of Caledonia, MI passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Philip; sister, Nancy; brothers, Bob, Richard, and Roger. Karen is survived by her children, Kim Edwards, Mike Tietz, Kelly (Scott) VanEerden; grandchildren, Jessica (Riley) Smith, Katherine Edwards (Paulo Quiros), Jaquez Edwards, Julia Tietz, Anna (Alex) Canup, Megan VanEerden, Cody VanEerden (fiance, Kayla Whitley); great-grandchildren, Jordyn Smith, Christopher Smith, Rory Smith; special family friends, the Kotarski family, Terry and Glayda Lewis. The family wishes to thank the staff at Emmanuel Hospice and especially Railside Living Center for the loving attention and care they provided. A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 6, from 4 to 6 PM at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, 49508, where a memorial service will be held on Monday, July 7, at 11 AM with a one-hour visitation prior to the service from 10 to 11 AM. Interment will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Karen may be made to the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans.
