Karen Wilson Walker

Karen Wilson (Stahl) Walker died on July 6, 2025. She passed peacefully at Edencrest Retirement Living Community in Beaverdale.

Karen was born on February 7, 1938, in Benton Harbor, Michigan, to Robert Stahl and Louise (Wilson) Stahl.

She was feisty, independent, and always the life of the party. She spent many wonderful summers on Spirit Lake in northwest Iowa, where nothing made her happier than entertaining family and friends. She loved birdwatching, reading, cooking, and serving as a caregiver.

Karen is survived by her children, John (Kim) Buller of Johnston, Mark (Laine) Buller of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, Lisa (Mike) Selover of Mitchellville, and Matt (Karla) Buller of Ankeny; her stepdaughter Jane (Paul) Andrew of Des Moines; her eight grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Ashley (Rick) Wing, Tyler Buller, Sarah (Ross) Bruns, Austin Buller, Zach Buller, Lilly Oswalt, Ryan Andrew, and Katie Ankrum; her six great-grandchildren, Everett, Elodie, Annabelle, Hailey, John Paul, and Abe; and her cat Daisy.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband Leslie D. Walker; her brother Kenneth Stahl; and her stepson Mike Walker.

Per Karen's wishes, there will not be a funeral. The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.

Karen will be laid to rest at a place special to her and Les. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Des Moines Animal Rescue League in Karen's name.
