William Raymond "Bill" Carlos Jr.

William (Bill) Raymond Carlos, Jr., 65, passed away on March 14, 2026, at home surrounded by loved ones after a battle with kidney failure and heart disease.

Bill was born December 16, 1960, in Des Moines to William (Bill Sr.) and Audrey Carlos. He grew up in Norwoodville and graduated from Saydel High School in 1979.

Bill had a lifelong love of automobiles. He enjoyed auto racing; classic cars and all things related to cars. He was a devoted Minnesota Vikings fan and collected Vikings memorabilia. Known for his big laugh and playful spirit, Bill loved making people smile and was always ready with a joke.

Bill is survived by his daughters, Shonna Rouse, Stephanee Zettler, Stacee Carlos and Shellee Carlos; his sisters, Judy Carlos Sharpe and Diana Carlos-Pirillo; five grandchildren; his devoted friend Ann Van Zandt and his fur babies.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Sr.; mother, Audrey; his grandparents; aunts, uncles and his cherished dog, Sassy.

The family will hold a celebration of life at the Hickory Grove Apartment Complex Clubhouse, 4010 East 42nd Street, Des Moines, on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with a social gathering immediately following.

A private scattering of ashes will take place at a later date.
