Karl Leone Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Broussard's Mortuary - Nederland from Oct. 1 to Oct. 2, 2025.
Today we gather to celebrate the life of Karl Leone, a man who lived with passion, grit, and an undeniable love for adventure. He was more than a father, a husband, a brother, or a friend-he was a force of nature who found joy in the outdoors, in speed, and in the simple moments that made life full.
Karl dedicated his life to serving God and his community, working in Law Enforcement. Recently retiring from Nederland Police Dept after serving for 33 years in multiple capacities. From patrol man and detective to working alongside FBI. But he was most proud of his final assignment as School Resource Officer where he founded the Hunting and Fishing Safety classes for NISD. He found pleasure in not only teaching children how to hunt and fish safely but also teaching them a respect for nature and the adventure of exploring all the beauty it had to offer.
From the woods to the water, he carried a spirit of exploration wherever he went. Hunting was never just about the harvest for him-it was about the peace of the forest, the stillness of early mornings, and the chance to connect with nature in its purest form. Fishing was much the same. Whether he came home with a bucket full or just a good story, he always found contentment with a rod in his hand and the water at his feet.
But his love of life didn't stop at quiet moments. He had a need for speed and a fearless energy that showed in his passion for racing. From roaring across the water in fast boats to tearing down dirt tracks on motorcycles, he lived for the thrill. Racing wasn't just a sport for him-it was freedom, excitement, and the joy of pushing limits.
Through it all, he taught us to chase after what we love, to embrace both stillness and adrenaline, and to live fully in every moment. His laughter, his determination, and his adventurous heart will remain with us forever.
Survivors include his children, Kade Leone and his wife, Julie; and Brooke Morgan; grandchildren, Lexi Leone, Brayden Leone, Jake Johnson, and Aubree Johnson; sisters, Deborah Guidry and Gena Brammer and her husband, Scott; brother-in-law, Larry Guidry; nieces and nephews, Clinton Sticker and his wife, Chelsea; Blaire Ivy Brammer and her fiancé, Josh Faddis; and Rachel Mullins and her husband, Matthew; and his fur baby, Crissy.
