Spilsbury Mortuary - St. GeorgeSt. George Utah - Karl Haven Paxman, age 73, passed away Saturday November 8th, 2025.
He was born July 27th, 1952, in St. George, Utah to Raeburn Paxman and Karlene Nelson Paxman. He married his sweetheart, Debbie Maxwell Paxman September 12th, 1975, in Mesa, AZ.
Karl was raised in St. George and Cedar City, Utah. He graduated from Cedar High School, where he was active in football and wrestling. He was a graduate of LDS seminary and served for two years in the Manitoba-Minnesota Mission. He later graduated from automotive technical college in Denver, CO.
Karl spent most of his life in St. George, UT. He worked as a tile mason, truck driver and city bus driver. Karl loved spending time with his family, raising seven beautiful daughters with his wife Debbie. He had many hobbies including reading his scriptures and Louis L'Amour books. He owned and raised several Brittany Spaniels and enjoyed their companionship over the years. He loved watching western movies, swimming, spending time in the mountains and driving jeeps. Karl couldn't pass up a good oatmeal raisin cookie.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Paxman of St. George, UT, and his seven daughters: Amanda and Chris Price with their children Mason, Kaitlyn, Cody, and Kylie Price of Belton, TX; Megan and Shan Whittaker with their son Colby Whittaker of Vineyard, UT; Amy Paxman and her daughter Anna Needham of St. George, UT; Karlie Paxman and Brett Johnson of Mesa, AZ; Cassie Paxman with her children Mattie and Roland Wilkes of St. George, UT; Donna and Jairus Anderson with their children Alivia, Millie, Evelyn, and William Anderson of Brookshire, TX; and Rebecca Paxman and Jesse Olivarez of West Jordan, UT. He is also survived by his sister, Ann Young, of Utah.
Karl is preceded in death by his father, Raeburn Paxman; mother, Karlene Paxman; and brother, Wesley Paxman.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 22nd, 2025, at the Bloomington Hills Chapel (750 E. Fort Pierce Dr. N., St. George, UT 84790), with a viewing at 9:00 a.m. and the funeral at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Tonaquint Cemetery.
Arrangements are made under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 South Bluff Street, St. George, Utah. 435-673-2454.
