Karl Joseph Wormuth, 78, passed away on October 22, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, good stories, and great memories. Born on June 5, 1947, Karl had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor that could make anyone laugh - and usually did. He retired as a surveyor for the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 158. He loved the simple pleasures in life: fishing, summers on Lake Champlain with friends, a good poker game, music playing loud, and a great yard sale find. For many summers, Karl and his longtime friend Hal Tharrett spent their days in Vermont at Carry Bay, fishing on Lake Champlain and catching more fish - and laughs - than they could count. And if there was music playing, you could count on Karl to be dancing - whether it was in the garage, at the winery, or down at the Amvets. He never needed an occasion to dance, just a good song and a smile.
At home, he found peace feeding the birds and all the wild critters who quickly learned that "Karl's place" was the spot to be. He had a soft heart for animals, a sharp sense of humor, and a laugh that filled every room. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Wormuth.
Karl is survived by his son, Adam Wormuth of Ogdensburg, New York, and Adam's daughter Mya; his daughter, Crystal Giltinan and her husband Jess Giltinan of Suffolk, Virginia, and
their son Maxwell. His laughter, stories, and love for life will be remembered and missed every single day.
He lived exactly as he wanted - with humor, heart, and music in his step.
