Karla Bailey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ponder Funeral Home - Sikeston on Dec. 19, 2025.
Karla Kim Bailey, age 70, passed away December 18, 2025 at her home in Sikeston, MO.

She was born February 13, 1955 in Sikeston, MO, daughter of the late Carl Bailey and Willie Dee Clay-Bailey.

She was a member of Shady Acres Church of Christ and had worked in the sales department for Rico Copiers and Modern Business Systems and Grainger before retiring.

Karla loved traveling all over the world with friends. She loved animals, especially dogs and cats, a good glass of wine, and a great steak-and it better be rare! She never turned down a beer and loved spending time with friends. She was a believer in Christ and was very deep in her faith.

She is survived by one son, Chris Dye of Mississippi; one daughter, Logan Dye (Earl Leavitt) of Sikeston, MO; one brother, Carlton Clay (Laura) Bailey of Joplin, MO; five grandchildren, Austin Dye, Alexandria Bailey Dye, C.J. Dye, Jacob Leavitt, and Tristan Leavitt; one great-grandchild, Arya; her best friend, Kim Couch; one niece, Kelsey Bailey; two nephews, Clay Bailey Jr. and Cody Bailey; her church family; the Yarbrough family; and the Dyer family.

The family wants to thank Legacy Hospice for the wonderful care given to their mother.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 29, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home.

There will be a private inurnment at Sikeston Garden of Memories.

Karla Kim was a great friend of mine. I called her my Grainger Girl while working at Horton Automatics in Corpus. I´m going to really miss Kim.
