Karla Ann Kelsch, beloved Mother and Wife, passed away on August 24, 2025, after battling cancer for two years.
Karla was born in Colorado Springs on June 11, 1973 to Thomas M. and Patricia A. Wasden. On December 20, 1997 she was married to Karl Edward Kelsch in Manti, Utah.
Karla attended Brigham Young University and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in 1997. Karla was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a missionary in Montreal, Canada from 1994 to 1996.
Karla loved to research-- from the best school district to finding a good car mechanic to the ins and outs of couponing and travel hacking. Friends and family knew they could rely on her expertise if they needed help.
One of Karla's passions was travel. She had detailed itineraries for every family vacation. These trips were priceless opportunities for family bonding and lasting memories.
Motherhood was so important to Karla. She attended every dance recital, band concert, and awards ceremony. Her children knew she was their biggest cheerleader.
Karla is survived by her husband, Karl; her children, Karlie, Kara, Katrina, and Kameron; her mother, Patricia; and her siblings, Karen Messenger, Mark Wasden, Kaylene Moore, and Kristi Corbin. She was preceded in death by her father.
Services will be held at 11 am on August 30th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 8710 Lexington Drive in Colorado Springs.

I have many fun and special memories of Soeur Wasden. I remember her first, "big haircut," and her determination to master French. She was intelligent and faithful and had a lovely stubborn streak. I am sorry for her family's loss, but grateful to have known and served with her in Montreal. Thank you for allowing us to share in honoring her.
