Karla C. Kurzweil
December 22, 1964 – April 2, 2025
Beloved sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend passed away on April 2, 2025 at the age of 60. She is predeceased by her parents, Charles and Jane Kurzweil. She is survived by her sister, Kathryn Voelker (John), brother Eric Kurzweil (Stephanie Granger), nephews Nathan and Jacob Granger, and niece, Sarah Vega (Jason), and their children, grand-niece Penny and grand-nephew Emilio.
Karla grew up in Sierra Madre, California, and was a graduate of Alverno High School (1982) and Occidental College (1986).
Karla was a member of Sweet Adelines International for over 30 years. She was passionate about women’s barbershop harmony, singing four-part harmony, and promoting its history and continued growth in the Indianapolis community. Karla was an active member of White River Sound Chorus of Indianapolis. Karla’s family would like to thank all the members of White River Sound Chorus for their unfailing support of Karla during her best and her hardest moments.
Karla’s family would also like to thank Dr. Methee Srivitana and the medical staff of the Community Heart and Vascular Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic for their knowledge, compassion and professionalism. Diane Brackin, N.P., your heartfelt and knowledgeable support went above and beyond and will always be cherished by Karla’s family.
Karla’s loves included family, friends, barbershop harmony, and dogs. She loved entertaining family and friends at her home. Cherished memories of Karla are held close by all those who loved her. She is dearly missed.
