Celebrating the Life of an Extraordinary Young Soul Karnell Amir Catling Jordan, age 8, of Columbus, OH, brought joy and light to all who knew him. Born on October 30, 2016, he was a beloved son and an inspiring young spirit who touched the hearts of many before his untimely passing on June 1, 2025. Karnell will be forever remembered for his infectious laughter, vibrant personality, and the love he shared with his family and friends. He is survived by his devoted mother, Tanjier Catling, and his loving father, Rashaun Jordan, who will cherish every moment they had with him. His life will be celebrated with a series of services that reflect the warmth and joy Karnell brought into our lives.
Karnell’s journey may have been brief, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. Karnell loved and celebrated his birthday on Halloween every year. Spiderman, football, video games with Takis Chips and his dog had a lot of his attention, however he remained an amazing big brother.
Karnell was always favored his aunts, Nicole Powell, Brandi Smith, Katrisa and Rashea Powell, Treondra, and Judia Jordan.
Karnell always tested his might and strength with his uncles, Jerome Smith, Trey Catlin, Bernard, Keith Powell and DeAndre Mccollom. We are so grateful to Karnell's grandfather Kyle Catting who introduced him to football. This created a bond that could not be broken between him and his Grandfather. If anyone started to talk about Grandma's, Karnell smile would light up the room and he would tell you “I have the best 2 grandmas in the world!” Mary Powell Jordan and Wanda Brown.
As we gather to celebrate Karnell’s life, let us remember the happiness he brought and the love that will always remain in our hearts. Karnell will be cherished forever and live on in the memories of his family and friends.
