Kate was born December 20, 1951 in

She was a loving mother, devoted wife, and cherished grandmother whose life was defined by compassion, strength, and service to others. She passed away after a courageous battle with a fatal lung disease, leaving behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on through her family and all those she touched. She felt like the luckiest woman in the world being married to Robert and could never stop thanking him for his selfless caregiving over the last 14 years. She loved spending her days with him and their love is a beautiful example to us all.
She was a devoted nurse by calling and by nature, it came so easily as she spent her life caring for others with gentleness and empathy. Even while bravely battling breast cancer herself, she found ways to give comfort, most memorably by making handmade bookmarks for fellow patients undergoing treatment alongside her in 2016, offering encouragement, hope, and solidarity during their hardest days.
She was a member of Southland Christian Church and lived a life full of gratitude for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her life was a testimony to perseverance, faith, and unwavering love. She enjoyed coloring and reading her bible every day.
God created her very crafty and creative and she loved cross-stitching, quilting, and sewing Christmas ornaments. She was the biggest UK Basketball fan and looked forward to every game, and she collected team records and point totals. She even memorized every player each season. She will be remembered for her warm spirit, selflessness, and the way she made people feel seen and cared for. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on in the lives she nurtured, the patients she comforted, and the family who loved her dearly.
Her celebration-of-life services will take place on Wednesday, March 18th at Clark Legacy Center-Brannon Crossing. The visitation will occur from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. followed by the celebration-of-life service at 4:00 p.m. Hospice Chaplain Beth Mosier will officiate. Her private burial will take place at Chestnut Grove Cemetery,
Burkesville, Kentucky.
In lieu of flowers, we'd love for you to consider a Kroger gift card to help care for Robert in the weeks ahead.
