On February 8, 1948 Cleveland, Ohio got a new resident. She was born to the union of Willie Mae and Joe Harrison and they named her Katherine. She was welcomed to the family by Joe Jr., James, Nathaniel, Herman, Lucille, and Emma Jean Harrison. Yep, she was number 7 and in the Bible 7 represents the number of completion or perfection. Katherine completed her family. Katherine attended the Cleveland Public Schools from Elementary to High School. She was an East Tech High School graduate. After graduation she obtained employment at the AAA Auto Club located then on the Shoreway Drive. She worked there until she retired. Katherine met and married the Love of her life Danny Daniel in 1969 and to that union a son was born and they named him Danny Daniel Jr. Katherine accepted Christ in her life at an early age. She was baptized in Jesus Name at The Christian Pentecostal Church on 89th & Beckman under the pastorate of Dr. Charles Scott. In the late 80's she found her way into the doors of the Zion Pentecostal Church of Christ located at 14102 Harvard Avenue. The pastor then was the establishmentarian, District Elder Donnell Lipford. Zion was truly the church in the heart of the city with the people of the city in its heart. Kat fell in love with the warmth and solace she felt at Zion and soon began to work where ever she saw a need. She could be found serving at our many dinners, luncheons and other social events.
She was a helping hand that visited the nursing homes, prisons, shelters and the homes of the sick and shut in. She also served as one of the keepers of God's house. Katherine accepted a call to ministry and received her Fellowship papers from the Ohio District Council affiliated with the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. October 3, 2013 and was collared the following Sunday at her church. She loved the lord and the work of the ministry. Before her health started to fail, she was at every church service, luncheon, banquet, retreat and shower. If Bishop Brantley had a speaking engagement somewhere and he asked the church to support, Kat was there. The Lady loved her life, she loved her family, she loved her pastor, her church family and friends, and lest we forget, she loved to EAT! She never turned down an invite to go eat. When Kat turned down earthly food, we knew she had a date with the lover of her soul.
He summoned for her Monday, April 14, 2025 and without fanfare or fuss, she quietly rested in the arms of her Savior. Katherine was preceded in death by her parents: Willie Mae and Joe Harrison; sisters: Emma Jean Harrison & Lucille Harrison-Jewell; brothers: James, Nathaniel & Herman Harrison. She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memories: her son, Danny Daniel, Jr.; her only remaining sibling; Joe Harrison, Jr.; her grandchildren, Briana & LeBron Daniel; Sister in law, Beverly Johnson and Brother in law, Dennis Daniel; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, a church family and friends.
"I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only but unto all them also that love his appearing. The Lord Jesus Christ be with thy spirit. Grace be with you. Amen".
