Mrs. Katherine June (Seadore) DeBolt

Katherine June (Seadore) DeBolt was born August 11, 1935 in Lakin Township, Minnesota to John and Ella (Fleck) Seadore, and passed away on April 11, 2016 at the Rock County Long Term Care in Bassett, Nebraska. Katherine had eight siblings. While Katherine was still a young lady her family moved several times to Redfish, South Dakota; Wood Lake, Johnstown, and finally to Long Pine, Nebraska. Katherine was known to have helped her father deliver ice after school, as well as working in the theater's ticket booth and delivering newspapers to the residents of Long Pine. Katherine met a young man from Bassett, Leo Arthur DeBolt, and they were united in marriage on October 14, 1951 at Ainsworth, Nebraska. To this union 10 children were born: Bobby Gene, Mary Ann, Carol June, Billy Eugene, Jimmy Lee, Betty Jane, Judy Lynn, twin boys, Jerry Lyne, and Gary Lee, and Valerie Lynn. Although times were hard, Katherine said she was never sad raising so many kids. Katherine was a very patient mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Katherine didn't have any free time to think about anything else, though it did bother her when some of the kids would fight amongst themselves. Katherine devoted her life to her children, making sure that every holiday was celebrated together as a family. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The highlight of her weekdays was watching her favorite soap operas, "The Young & the Restless" and "The Bold and the Beautiful." (She never missed an episode.) Katherine is preceded in death by her parents, John & Ella Seadore; husband Leo of 41 years; daughter, Betty Jane Hart; brothers, Johnny Seadore, and Richard Seadore (Korean War), Larry Seadore (Vietnam War); sister, Rosie Warnke, and Grandson Trayvin DeBolt. She leaves to celebrate her memory, nine children, Bobby Gene of Bassett, Mary Ann (Mrs. John Hartgrave) of Alliance, Nebraska, Carol June (Mrs. Duskin Lowe) of Rapid City, South Dakota, Billy Eugene of Long Pine, Jimmy Lee and wife Angela of Long Pine, Judy Lynn (Mrs. Allan Lear) of Bassett; Jerry Lyne of Bassett Long Term Care, Gary Lee & special friend Deb of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Valerie Lynn (Mrs. Elwood Herron) of Ord, Nebraska; along with 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and (two pending); sister-in-law Margaret Seadore of Long Pine; brothers, Albert and wife Lois Seadore of Callaway, Raymond of Callaway; sisters, Margie Seadore of Callaway and Shirley (Mrs. Gordon Hitchcock) of Ainsworth, nieces and nephews and other family members. Funeral services were held on April 15, 2016 at the United Methodist Church in Bassett, Nebraska. Pastor Rod Heilbrun officiated the service. CD selections of "I Believe" by Diamond Rio and "Walk On" by Reba McEntire were provided. Shanna Washburn shared special memories. Pallbearers were, Jesse DeBolt, Taylor Lowe, Shamus Hartgrave, Conan Allen, Nicholas Herron, Leo Ritter, and Arthur DeBolt. Honorary bearers were all of Katherine's Granddaughters and Great-grandchildren. Burial followed at the Bassett Memorial Park Cemetery near Bassett under the direction of Hoch Funeral Home of Bassett. Memorials were suggested to the family in her name.
