Katherine Carbone Delaney, 67, of Staley, went peacefully to be with her Lord on Friday, May 26, 2023, at Woodland Hill Center in Asheboro.
Katherine was born March 27, 1956 in Milford, Connecticut, to the late Vincent Peter Carbone and the late Caroline Joan Barnes. She was also preceded in death by husband, Darryl Lee "Butch" Delaney.
Kathy was a loving wife, friend, sister, mother and Nana. She found her soulmate with her husband Butch and missed him dearly. They both loved the Lord and knew one day they would meet again. That day has come. As we grieve her loss we find comfort in knowing that she is in the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ, walking on streets of gold with the love of her life Butch. She was a caring person who gave from the heart. She loved her children and was a very proud Nana. She has been a huge part of her grandchildren's lives since their births and took joy in watching them grow up. Her family was her heartbeat.
She touched so many lives. The loss is immeasurable, but so is the love she left behind.
Survivors include her son, David Delaney of Albemarle; daughter, Marion Delaney of Staley; grandchildren, Audri, Michael, Felicia, Richard, and Bradley; siblings, Peter (Debbie) Carbone of Brownfield, ME; JoAnn (James) Onze of Milford, CT; William (Theresa) Barnes of Bridgton, ME; Michael Barnes of Midland; Albert (Florence) Barnes of Oxford, CT; Tina (Steve) Chartier of Mount Upton, NY; James Barnes of Essex, CT; Charles (Alanna) Barnes of Dumfries, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 am - 11:45 am, Monday, June 12, 2023, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service in celebration of Katherine's life will follow at 12:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, officiated by James Onze. Burial will follow at Oakboro Cemetery, 1397 North Main Street, Oakboro.
