James "Jimmy" Delaney

James "Jimmy" Delaney, age 35, passed away unexpectedly on March 14, 2026. He was born in Mt. Clemens to Diane (DeBurie) Delaney and the late James Delaney.

Jimmy was a graduate of Eisenhower High School in Shelby Township. Following graduation, he spent several years living in California before returning to Michigan, where he resided in Sterling Heights, Detroit, and most recently Royal Oak.

He worked as a journeyman carpenter with Brinker Team Construction in Detroit, where his skill, work ethic, and attention to detail were well respected. Jimmy had a natural gift for numbers and math, and was known for his quick wit and sharp mind.

In his free time, Jimmy enjoyed playing disc golf, poker, and listening to music-especially jam bands and The Doors. He had a fun-loving spirit and a personality that made him easy to be around and hard to forget.

He was the beloved son of Diane and the late James Delaney; dear brother of Nichole Porter, Victoria Delaney, Ashley (Michael) DeClark, Danielle (Clayton) Vipond, and Conner Delaney; and proud uncle of Summar Hanna, Noah Rosetti, Grayson Vipond, and a soon-to-be niece.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 7:00 p.m. at Great Lakes Church, 39051 Dodge Park Rd., Sterling Heights.
