Jack "Bud" Edwards

Jack "Bud" Edwards, age 89, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026. Born on April 11, 1936, in Pittsburgh, Illinois, Jack lived a life defined by dedication to family, service, and community.

Jack proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1958, first as a clerk and later as an air policeman. Following his military service, Jack built a long and hardworking career with Chrysler, where he was employed for 30 years.

On November 8, 1960, Jack married the love of his life, Sharon, at the Church of Christ on 8 Mile and John R. Together, they built a warm and loving home, first in Royal Oak and later in Sterling Heights.

Jack was a devoted father to Kenneth (Lynda) Edwards and Richard (Rose-Ellen (Rose)) Filthaut, and a proud and loving grandfather to Michael, Kevin, Jeffery, Scott, and Rebecca. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren-attending their sporting events, cheering them on, and being an active presence in their lives.

Jack especially cherished time spent at the family cottage on Sanford Lake, where he enjoyed fishing, taking in the beauty of nature, and creating lasting memories with his grandchildren, often taking them out on the pontoon boat with one sitting happily on his lap as he drove. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and found peace and happiness in nature.

Jack had a passion for remote-controlled airplanes and was an active member of the Sky Masters club, where he shared his enthusiasm for flying with others.

Known for his kindness and generosity, Jack was a beloved neighbor who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He will be remembered for his warm heart, steady presence, and unwavering love for his family.

Jack will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A visitation will be held for Jack on Sunday March 22nd From 2-8 at Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Directors, 705 W. Eleven Mile Rd. (4 blks. E. of Woodward), Royal Oak, 48067. A funeral service will be held on Monday March 23rd at 10 am at Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Directors, 705 W. Eleven Mile Rd. (4 blks. E. of Woodward), Royal Oak, 48067. Jack will be laid to rest follow the services at White Chapel Cemetery (621 W Long Lake Rd, Troy, MI 48098).
