Walter Imbronone Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Directors - Royal Oak on Mar. 19, 2026.
Walter Francis Imbronone left us peacefully on March 12th 2026. Born to Joseph & Lottie (Mac) on December 13th 1950 in Detroit, Michigan - a town that he embodied with every step, every word he spoke and breath he took throughout each day of his life. His legacy was not only to create the most legendary traditions, provide the best shoulder to cry on or be the one to always have gummy candies up his sleeve. It was truly to be the greatest son, nephew, brother, cousin, uncle, great-uncle, great-great uncle, godfather and friend this world has ever known. Brother to Anthony Joseph Imbronone (Janice Campanelli Imbronone) and Tina Imbronone Doyle (James Doyle); and uncle to Jennifer Imbronone Bearer (Michael Bearer), Jessica Imbronone Sanches (Nikita Sanches) ... and many, many more! He lived fast and died free. From his love of Lions Football in the 1950's to his passion for music and good times in the 1960's to cross-country motorcycling in the 1970's to most importantly being the best father figure, funcle and confidant in all of the years that followed. His love and adoration will forever be unmatched. Boating, fishing, hunting, shooting, motorcycling, snowmobiling, 4- wheeling ... the quintessential Michigander his whole life through - unless it was his treasured time spent with the Sons of the American Legion/Legion Riders during his later years in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. The number one overall Detroit sports fan. There was no place he loved more than home. He was a master mechanic by trade whose knowledge thereof was unrivaled. If he loved you he lived to provide for and take care of you. The realest, the most fun and the true definition of cool. Throughout his life, if he wasn't doting on all of the 'kids' who lovingly called him U.W. (amongst countless other beloved nicknames) he was spoiling all of the family's pups and kitty cats. There will forever be a giant hole in the hearts of all who loved him. His memory will live on and he will be so greatly missed. From now until infinity we all will love you more!

A memorial visitation will be held on May 23rd at Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home (705 W Eleven Mile rd, Royal Oak MI 48067) 4 blks east of Woodward from 12 pm until the service time of 5 pm.
