Katherine Ellen French, age 80, of Vilonia, Arkansas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 1, 2026. She was born on October 28, 1945, in Troy, Ohio, to the late Carlos M. and Susie Mae Huffington.
Kathy graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a degree in education and devoted 43 years to teaching, serving both Bayou Meto and the Vilonia School Districts. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, where she and her husband were married.
Kathy was well known for her generous heart, quick wit, and deep devotion to her family. A true matriarch, she was often sought out for her wisdom, encouragement, and prayers. She enjoyed bingo, bunko, volunteering at the senior citizen center, and spending time at home surrounded by those she loved.
Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Tim French; her parents; and her sister, Barbara.
She is survived by her daughter, Missy Scroggins (Preston); her son, Chris French (Missy); five grandchildren, Hannah Leigh Ricketts, Mattison Alece French, Emma Marie Sherpa, Noah Tyler French, and Rease Katherine French; and one great-grandchild, Cooper Drake Langley.
There will be a memorial service in her honor held at First Baptist Church in Vilonia on Tuesday, January 6th at 11:00 am, with a visitation an hour prior at 10:00 am.
Honorary Pallbearers will be as followed; Sonam Sherpa, Easton Rogers, Bub Rhoades, Matt Weaver, Mark Weaver, Ty French, and Kenny Cole.
