Katherine F. (Doherty) Kacey died peacefully at the age of 91, surrounded by loved ones on the evening of October 8th, 2025, in her home in Arlington. The beloved wife of the late Walter Kacey.

Born in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Phillip A. and Katherine (Madden) Doherty. She was raised in Somerville and graduated from Somerville High School with the class of 1952. She was a long-time resident of Arlington. She was a long- time townhall employee in Arlington; her pride for the town of Arlington was only outmatched by her love for her close family.

After marrying Walter Kacey, they purchased their home and settled in Arlington. Kay and Walter loved to travel and loved spending time in Cape Cod. In later years, Kay volunteered at the Arlington Senior Center, where she was also a member. She also belonged to the Catholic Women's club. Kay was an avid reader and preferred to read mystery/thriller books.

In addition to her late husband Walter Kacey, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Phillip Doherty, two sisters, Margaret Gould and Mary Nickerson, Niece Marie (Nickerson) Morisseau, and Niece's husband, James White.

Kay was survived by Robert and his wife Cindy Nickerson, Patrica and her husband John Farino, Thomas and his wife Marguerite Nickerson, John and his wife Anne Gould, Joseph Gould, Kathleen( Gould) White. She was also survived by nine great nieces and nephews, and thirteen great-great Nieces and Nephews. She enjoyed visits from her close family and friends, spending holidays with her great Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Keefe Funeral home, 5 Chestnut Street Arlington, MA on Saturday October 18th. The viewing is from 10-11am, followed by the funeral mass, at St. Agnes Church, Medford St., Arlington at 11:30AM. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington.

Donations may be made in Kay's memory to American Lung Association.
