Katherine “Kathy” Bunn Boykin, 69 of Sims passed away Saturday, November 5, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 17, 2022 in Bailey Town Cemetery. Rev. Kelly Smart will officiate.
The family will receive friends Monday, November 14, 2022 from 7 – 9 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Kathy retired from Wilson Community College after thirty-four years of service as a scheduling technician. She enjoyed working with every student enrolled at the college for many years. More than anything, Kathy loved her role as a mother and devoted her life to her daughters.
Kathy is survived by her mother, Jackie Mae Hurdle of Bailey; daughters, Miranda Rae Boykin, and Stephanie Gail Boykin both of Sims; sisters, Clarkey B. Galloway and Jacqueline Rae Godwin and husband, Thomas both of Garner, and many extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Ray Bunn.
