Katherine M. Kerth, 63, a resident of Naperville, IL since 1976, passed away on November 23, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on July 1, 1962 in Kansas City, MO.
Katie is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Bill Kerth; her adoring daughters, Amanda (Al) Jasinski and Abbey (Evan) Goodman; her treasured grandchildren, Luke, Mack and Amelia Jasinski, Ty and Noah Goodman; her devoted mother, Patricia Farrell; her dear sisters, Kelly (Tom) Quill, Karen (Cameron) Dressander, and Shannon (Bob) Kuhter; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, John K. Farrell.
Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Katie moved to Naperville, Illinois, in 1976 and quickly made the community her home. She attended Naperville North High School and later graduated from Eastern Illinois University, beginning a lifelong dedication to education. As an educator in District 203 for 35 years, Katie poured her heart into helping children learn, grow, and believe in themselves. She embraced an active lifestyle and loved staying fit, finding joy in movement and wellness. Above all, Katie cherished her role as "Nana Katie," spending treasured time with her grandchildren who were the light of her life. A devoted member of St. Elizabeth Seton Church, she was deeply involved in several ministries and lived her faith through service. Family was at the center of everything she did, and she will be remembered for her unwavering love, warmth, resiliency and the way she lived fully for those she loved.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations made in Katie's memory to Wellness House (www.wellnesshouse.org), or please make a donation in memory of Katie Kerth to support Dr. Keutgen's Neuroendocrine work at the University of Chicago Medicine.
