Katherine Alberta Knuth of Fairchild, Wisconsin, died peacefully at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Seymour, Wisconsin, on November 3 at the age of 95.
Kate was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, on June 22, 1928, to Tess and Charles Parker. She attended school in Eau Claire.
Kate married Arthur Frederick Knuth on August 26, 1952. She is survived by her three sons: Gary (Kathy) Knuth of Fairchild, Richard (Cindy) Knuth of Fowlerton, Texas and Mark (Kay) Knuth of Appleton. Kate is also survived by eight grandchildren, Aaron, Kevin, Joshua, Jacob, Stephanie, Katie, Parker and Kolby and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Kate was preceded in death by her parents, Tess and Charles Parker, and by her husband of 43 years, Arthur Knuth. She is also preceded in death by her seven siblings: Robert, Donald, David, Nellie, Jane, Carol and Linda.
Kate worked at the Fairchild School as the head cook for over 20 years. She enjoyed working with the children. They all called her "Aunt Kate." After she retired from the school she took care of her husband who had suffered a severe stroke. She took care of him at home for 14 years. After Art died in 1995, she went back to the Fairchild School as a volunteer in the library. Those were very rewarding years for her.
Kate loved music and dancing. Kate loved to travel, visiting many states. She loved camping, fishing and going on ATV rides with her kids. She also loved to read, cook, sew, knit, crochet and do any kind of craft. She always did excellent work and her family has many of her pieces of crochet work which she generously shared over the years. She also took cake decorating classes and made some wedding cakes.
Kate was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 10 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church at 324 Oak Street, Fairchild, Wis. Friends may call 2 hours prior to services starting at 9 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Fairchild Cemetery immediately followed by a lunch which will be served at Bloom's Country Inn, W14411 Old Hwy 10, Fairchild. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in Kate's name.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Seymour, and also Unity Hospice of Appleton, Wis. for their thoughtful care.
