She was a graduate of Saint Joseph’s Academy, Class of 1951 and Saint Joseph’s Secretarial Institute the following year. After 23 years at home, Kay returned to work as a secretary at Rush-Henrietta Senior High School. In the early 80s, her husband’s job as vocational counselor at the VA found them relocating to Manlius, NY. There she became the administrative assistant to the Principal of Fayetteville-Manlius High School, until her retirement in 1996. John and Katherine returned to their hometown of Lockport in 2004 to be closer to their family.
In addition to her parents, Katherine was predeceased by her beloved husband, John W. Lange in 2007; her in-laws, Rev. Ivan and Elva Lange; siblings, Charles (Betty) MacDonald, Robert MacDonald, Helen (John) Coleman, Carol (Bill) Davin; and her son, Thomas Ivan Lange.
