Funeral Mass for Katherine A. (nee Janson) Madda, 74, of Leroy Township, will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Justin Martyr Church, 35711 Stevens Blvd., Eastlake. Father Kevin Liebhardt will officiate. Kathy passed away Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, at her residence with her family at her side. Born March 31, 1947, in Cleveland, she had lived in Eastlake and South Euclid before moving to Leroy Township 24 years ago. She was a member of St. Justin Martyr Church in Eastlake. Kathy loved ceramics, wine tasting, traveling and enjoyed fishing. Her main love was being a wife, mom and grandma. Kathy was the beloved wife of 53 years to Donald R. Madda; loving mother of Wendy M. Madda and Kerry A. (Scott) Gessic; cherished grandmother of John and Jessica Kropf, Stephen Jr. (Sarah), Jonathan and Morgan Gessic; dear sister of Susan M. (Bill) Wright, Thomas J. (Mary Jo) Janson, and Kimberly A. (Michael) Jones; dear sister-in-law of Susan Madda, Phillip Madda, Maryann Madda, Mary (Martin) Epstein, and Jack (Patty) Madda; and aunt of many nieces and nephews. She also leaves her beloved dog, Penny. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert J. and Rosemary (nee Amata) Janson; in-laws, Donald P. and Lucille I. (nee Totino) Madda; and brother-in-law, Anthony Madda. Family will receive friends from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.
