Katherine Fay McGuire, 70, of Osage City, KS died Wednesday January 5, 2022 at Stormont-Vail, Topeka, KS.
She was born March 24, 1951 in Osage County, KS the daughter of Arlie Hallowell and Dorothy (Masters) Hallowell. She was a lifelong Osage County resident, graduating from Burlingame High School.
Katherine worked for many years at I.B.P. as a processor. After retiring from her job and the death of her stepfather, Robert Anderson, she became her mother's constant companion.
Katherine was a highly opinionated, never afraid to tell you how it is, lady. She had no fear of hurting your feelings and holding you accountable for your mistakes, but she also would be there for anyone in a heartbeat to help them regardless of why they needed help. She was very set in her ways but had a very funny side to her. Her sense of humor was dry but always made you laugh.
She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, and nephew C.R. Atchison.
She is survived by two sons, Timmy Hill and his wife, Mary, Harveyville, KS, Michael McGuire and his wife, Lisa, Osage City, KS; three sisters, Linda Meyer, Topeka, KS, Connie Sue Hallowell, Osage City, KS, Patty Kruzel, Topeka, KS; two grandchildren, Zackery Romine and his wife, Felicia, Burlingame, KS, Lafayette McGuire, Burlington, KS; two great grandchildren, Hazley and Addlyn.
Memorial funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday January 21, 2022 at Burlingame Federated Church, Burlingame, KS. To celebrate Katherine's life, a visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, 503 S. Topeka Ave., Burlingame, KS 66413.
