Katherine Sue Richards, 76, of Howard, OH, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2025 at Knox Community Hospital, in Mount Vernon, OH.
Sue was born March 30th, 1948 in Richlands, VA. to Edward and Helen {Osborne} Sisk. Sue graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1966 at the height of Beatles’ popularity. She loved to dance when she was younger. She met Greg Richards at work and then they married later in life, 1991, and She took devoted care of him for years when he became ill.
Sue was the cook at Mount Vernon Developmental Center for years and became manager over the kitchen. She almost never said a bad word about anyone, but she gave everyone a hard time with zingers and teasing. People loved her. She worked for K-Mart and Krogers, keeping herself busy after she retired. She was always “put together,” making sure her hair was in place and clothing nice. She would help anyone and loved to help in many ways.
Sue will be deeply missed by her children Holly (Jeff) Miller, Kirby (Wendy) Walton, Amy (Kenny) Walton, step children Mike (Sandra) Richards, Chris (Shannon) Richards; grandchildren Ceth (Jess) Miller, Jacob (Autumn) Keys, Bailey Swihart, Grayson Scruggs, Daniel Walton, Amanda Walton, Katie Richards, Jessica Richards, Jason Richards; great-grandchildren Hunter Keys, Anistasia Schantle; sister Kay Vilfer; nephew Tim Vilfer and many other nieces and nephews. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Ken Sisk, twin sisters, stepson Brian Richards.
