Katherine Lewandowski Schodowski

Katherine (Kathy) Lewandowski Schodowski 72, peacefully passed away on January 22, 2025. Kathy was born in Newark, and moved to Carteret in 1960 where she lived her entire life. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph's church and attended St. Joseph's grammar school.
Kathy was a 1970 graduate of Carteret High School. Upon graduation, she was employed at Sea Land in Newark for 10 years and Network America Lines in Roselle Park where she worked for the last 23 years as a Customer Service Manager.
Kathy was predeceased by her brother Frank Lewandowski in 2013, mother, Anne Lewandowski in 2018, and father, Frank Lewandowski in 2020. She is survived by her nephew Justin Lewandowski and sister-in-law, Peggy Lewandowski both of Columbia, South Carolina. She is also survived by Dona Lewandowski, Sayreville, her aunts Josephine Wysocki of Port Reading, and Joanne Lewandowski of Flemington.and a large family of cousins as well as lifetime friends, Cathy Dyciewski Nase of Waretown, and Tiffany Hamedl of Carteret.
Kathy will best be remembered for her honest, generous and vivacious personality. One of her passions was international travel and she visited many countries over the years including Poland, Russia, England, Switzerland, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, and China. She also enjoyed working out at the gym, dinners with friends and living a peaceful, uncomplicated life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Cremation will be private, but a celebration of life will take place at First Presbyterian Church of Sayreville at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kathy's name to either of her favorite charities, the ASPCA or St. Jude's Hospital.
