Katherine Svenson

Katherine M. Svenson passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026. She was born in Oneonta, NY, on January 13, 1934, To the late Raymond and Irene (Mettler) Comstock. She is survived by her children Clayton (Karen) Svenson of Norwich, NY, Bonnie Hicks and her companion Matt Davenport, of Oxford, NY. Gary Svenson, of Oxford NY. Tim Svenson, of Sherburne NY. She is also survived by her siblings Doris Laris, of Plano TX. Barbara Butler, of Jacksonville FL. Katherine was predeceased by her husband Carl and her sister Betty and two brothers Howard and Charles. She had two granddaughters Staci Svenson of Roanoke VA, and Shelley (John) Gouvisis of Colonial Beach VA. She also has one great granddaughter, Payton Gouvisis of Colonial Beach VA.

Katherine worked at the Norwich Shoe Company, Shop Vac, and for Electron Coil Company. She was a wonderful mother to all her children. She was known for her macaroni and cheese and blue berry cake. She will be greatly missed by her children.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Behe Funeral Home Inc. 21 Main Street, Oxford, NY. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 11:00AM-1:00PM. Funeral services officiated by Pastor Richard Howard will begin at 1:00PM followed by a burial; in Riverview Cemetery, Oxford, NY.
