Katherine "Kathy" Marie Wilbert, 76, of Burlington, died Monday, February 27, 2023, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born January 7, 1947, in Moline, IL, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Genevieve Griffith Ross. On May 19, 1979, she married James Wilbert in Mt Pleasant.
She graduated from Rock Island High School in 1965.
Kathy was a homemaker and loved teaching Sunday School for 25 years.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Kathy loved going out to eat and enjoyed cooking, but she enjoyed other peoples' cooking more. She loved to read, travel and had a special talent with kids. Kathy always watched the neighborhood kids and helped them out. Family was the most important to her and she always made them feel so loved. Kathy loved her grandchildren and was the best grandma in the world.
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, James Wilbert of Burlington; five children, Mark (Shelly) Masterson of Mt. Pleasant, Matt (Melissa) Masterson of Burlington, Ben (Beth) Wilbert of Hawthorn Woods, IL, Doug (Cami) Wilbert of Winthrop, ME, Mindy (Cliff) Donald of Phoenix, AZ; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; brother, David Ross of Moline, IL; sister, Karen Overcash of Milan, IL; several niece and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Don and Richard.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Church.
The funeral service for Mrs. Wilbert will be 3:00 PM Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Calvary Baptist Church with Reverend Simeon Counterman officiating. A time of food and fellowship will be held at Calvary Baptist Church following the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Calvary Baptist Church and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
