Kathern was a graduate of Geneseo High School, Geneseo, and received an Associate of Arts degree from a business school. She was employed as the office manager at Leech Products Inc., for over 15 years.
Kathern is survived by: children, Jessica (fiancé, Brad Isley) Rogge of Hutchinson, Jennifer Rogge of Hutchinson, Robert 'Bean' (Kat) Rogge of Hutchinson, Chris (Robin) Droegemeier of Lindsborg, and Shane VanNest of Kansas City, KS; 16 grandchildren; sister, Darlene Hasley of IA; and good friend, Trisha Mann of CO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and significant other, Jeff VanNest.
Celebration of Life gathering will be 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 2021, at the VFW, 328 N. Van Buren, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2021, through Friday, October 29, 2021, at Elliott Mortuary, and from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 2021, at the VFW.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Kathern Droegemeier Memorial Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
