Keith Droegemeier was born on March 24, 1946, in Richmond, California, to Delbert and Vera Droegemeier. He passed away on August 11, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and service.
Keith attended school in the Denison Independent School District where he excelled at sports, especially playing football for the Denison Yellow Jackets, graduating in 1964.
Following his education, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, stationed on Mount McKinley out of San Diego, California. Keith married the love of his life, Linda Droegemeier, and together they created a loving home, blessed with two sons, Stanley and Robert Droegemeier.
A jack of all trades, Keith held various jobs throughout his life, with his most recent position as a Grounds Maintenance Supervisor at Pottsboro Independent School District. Outside of work, he had a deep passion for the outdoors, enjoying activities like hunting, fishing, gardening, walking, and spending time in nature.
Keith is survived by his two sons, Stanley Droegemeier and Robert Droegemeier, along with Robert's wife, Lisa. He is also survived by his brothers, Don and his wife Jo Droegemeier, and Stanley and his wife Willie Droegemeier; his sister Sylvia Smith; and his beloved grandchildren, Joshua Droegemeier and Ashlyn Droegemeier.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Marie Droegemeier; his sister, Gladys Mora; and his parents, Delbert and Vera Droegemeier.
Keith will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his dedication to his work, connection to the great outdoors, and deep patriotism for his country.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2024, from 1 to 3:30 PM at Waterloo Lake Building, 1000 Waterloo Lake Dr, Denison, TX 75020.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Vietnam Veterans of America.
