Gerald Royce Nelson
July 18, 1943 – November 1, 2025

Gerald Royce Nelson was born on July 18, 1943, and passed away at his home in Siloam Springs, AR on November 1, 2025, at the age of 82. Born in Mobile, AL to James Nelson and Thelma Goodwin Nelson and raised in Greenville, MS, Gerald leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and kindness that touched everyone who knew him.

Gerald is survived by the love of his life, Laverne Grant Nelson. Fifty-four years ago, Gerald came home and announced he had met the love of his life - a widowed woman with six children. His family thought he was crazy, but he knew better. Those six children - five boys and one girl - became his children, and he loved them fiercely every day since.

Gerald is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Larry Nelson; his granddaughters Misty Kelley and Stephanie Kelley; and his grandson Matthew Kelley.

He is survived by his wife Laverne; his children Danny Kelley of Denison, TX; Bill Kelley and wife Sandy of Springtown, TX; Donald Kelley and wife Laura of Denison, TX; Ronald Kelley of Denison, TX; Lynn Kelley and wife Angela of Siloam Springs, AR; and Karen Rollins of Coldwater, MS. He also leaves behind one sister, Jan Roebuck of Memphis, TN and brother, Charlie Nelson of Stringtown, MS. He also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, all of whom adored their "Pop."

Gerald loved the Lord with all his heart and served Him faithfully throughout his life. His greatest desire was to share the love of God with others. He was kindhearted to everyone he met, and his gentle spirit made a lasting impression on all who crossed his path.

While Gerald will be deeply missed on earth, his family and friends take great comfort in knowing he is now in the presence of his Lord - healed, whole, and rejoicing in heaven.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 10, 2025 at Fisher Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior of services.
