Kathleen Anderson Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 19, 2025.
Kathleen Ann (McBride) Anderson, age 73, died at her home in St. Charles, Illinois on June 21, 2025 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a year ago.

Born March 5, 1952 in Evansville, Indiana to Roscoe and Alice McBride, Kathy attended Evansville's Rex Mundi High School, graduating in 1970. Kathy attended Ball State University, where she met the love of her life, Michael Anderson. She graduated early in 1973, and on August 11, 1973, she married Mike, eventually celebrating over 51 years of marriage and love together. Mike and Kathy lived in Ohio and Indiana before settling down in the Chicago suburbs to raise their family. Kathy will be remembered for her incredibly kind heart, a desire to do good in the world, and, most of all, for being a selfless and devoted mother and grandmother.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Mike; children Matt and Kelly (Bartell) Anderson of Cary, IL, Jeff and Kat (Hart) Anderson of Coral Gables, FL, Chris and Jessica (Savage) Anderson of Elmhurst, IL, and Katie (Anderson) and David Ryan of St. Charles, IL; Grandchildren Sam, Amelia, Clara, Penelope, Michael, Evelyn, Charlie, and Luke; Siblings Mike (Mary) McBride, Pat (Pam) McBride and Tim (Chrysann) McBride; sister in law Vickie (Bill) Lytton and beloved pet Ruby.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Alice McBride, and daughter Kelly Marie Anderson (born still in 1977).

Visitation will be Friday, June 27 at 9:30 a.m. at St. John Neumann Church (2900 E Main St, St. Charles IL) followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 am with Father Paul White presiding.

Immediately following the funeral mass, all are welcome to St. Charles Country Club (1250 Country Club Rd, St. Charles, IL) for a luncheon and celebration of Kathy's life. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Fox Valley Food for Health (beloved organization where Kathy volunteered her time).
