Kathleen Blankenship

Kathleen Blankenship, age 72, of Stopover, Kentucky, passed peacefully at her residence on November 22nd, 2025.

She was born at Stopover, Kentucky, on May 10th, 1953, the daughter of the late John Wesley Blankenship & Lona Blankenship Wolford.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded by loving husband, Alfred Blankenship, two sons, Danny Robert Blankenship and Cody Blankenship, a daughter, Jeanie Blankenship, brothers, Ray Wolford, Jerry Blankenship, Ken Wolford, George Wolford, and Michael Blaneknship.

Kathleen was a proud homemaker and took great pride in caring for her family and she was known to everyone as a "mom to many". Her feisty and outspoken spirit defined the wonderful woman she was. Kathleen's grandchildren always held immense joy and pride in her heart. They were the center of her world and she loved them fiercely.

Those remaining to honor the memory of Kathleen include her children, Pam (William) Wolford of Stopover, KY, Karen (Mikey) Coleman of Stopover, KY, Evelyn Hurley of TN; brothers, Acie Blankenship of Feds Creek, KY, and Wheeler Blankenship of Grundy, VA, sisters, Ocie Blankenship of Stopover, KY, Stella Mae of Canada, Annie of Richlands, VA, and Verline Ray of Stopover, KY.

Kathleen's special friends, Donna Dotson, Angie Hurley, and Shelia Ray were dear to her heart. She cherished the friendship of these special ladies.

Kathleen was the loving grandmother to Kimberly (Corey) Mcintosh, Richard (Savanna) Wolford, Ricky "Harley" (Becky) Wolford, James Coleman, Tony & Robbie, Bobbi Michelle Clark, Ruby Wolford, Jr. Wolford, Samantha Wolford, Kendra McCormick, Jordan Estep, Jonathon Hurley, Katie Blankenship, Tony Duty, Brittany & Hailey Justice, Amber Dotson, and Kenneth & Kyra Blankenship; great-grandchildren, Danny, Emilia, Emma, Brayleighn, Samaria, Micah, Bryson, Grayson, Easton, and Nevaeh.

Kathleen's memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have been blessed by her kindness and love.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 24th, 2025 starting at 6:00 P.M. and service at 7:00 P.M. at the Jones & West Funeral Home with Pastor Odis Blankenship officiating. Tuesday, November 25th, 2025 at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M. with Pastor Larry Rife officiating.

Funeral services will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 26th, 2025 in the chapel with Pastor Odis Blankenship officiating.

Interment will follow at the Barker Cemetery on Right Fork of Hurricane, in Stopover, KY. Friends & family will serve as Pallbearers.
