Homer Lee Estepp

With a heavy heart we announce the passing of Homer Lee Estepp, fondly known as "Jimmy Mounts", age 80, resident of Phelps, Kentucky. Jimmy passed away on November 2nd, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family at his residence.
Jimmy was born on December 15th, 1944, in Williamson, West Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his birth mother, Maggie (Estepp) Farley, his loving parents who raised him, Rozell & Easter Mounts, a sister, Geri Liles, and his grandson, Zachary Estepp.
Jimmy was a retired truck driver and a Past master of the Thomas DeVenny Lodge #928. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching Professional Bull Riding on television. His ability to crack a joke or a funny story that would always bring a smile to anyone's face was one of his most endearing qualities. A cherished husband, father and grandfather, Jimmy's personality was always fun-loving with a big heart and smile.
Survivors include his adored wife of 57 years, Linda (Hensley) Estepp of Phelps, KY; his children, Homer Jr. (Jessica) Estepp of Elizabethtown, KY, Larry (LaDonna) Estepp of Ransom, KY and Teresa (Barry) Michael of Phelps, KY; two brothers, James (Mary) Savage of Quincy, KY, and Eddie Savage of St. Cloud, Florida, Dianna (Tony) Corns of Vanceburg, KY, June Ginn of Ohio, Donna Nolen of Maysville, KY, Jenny (Charlie) Corns of Vanceburg, KY, and Kecia Craig of Morehead, KY. Jimmy also leaves behind a host of nieces & nephews.
Jimmy had a special brother-in-law that was dear to his heart, David (Mary) Hensley of Catlettsburg, KY and special friends, Paul & Connie Cote and Josephine Smith.
Jimmy was the proud papaw to Brittany Michael, Heather (Bob) Wolford, and Melody (Preston) Sincell all of Phelps, KY; great-grandchildren, Paxton & Madden Wolford of Phelps, KY; and Ethan Wolford of Belfry, KY; great-great granddaughter, Attica Reese Wolford of Belfry, KY.
Jimmy's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful people who helped take care of him. Leonard Lawson Cancer Center, Bluegrass Care Navigators, Dr. Mohamed El Dinali, Patsy Howell at Palliative Care, the 8th floor staff at Pikeville Medical Center Oncology department, and James the Chaplin at PMC.
Honoring the wishes of Jimmy, cremation will take place and there will be no service.
