Kathleen Hope Bredberg Kathleen Hope Bredberg, 78, of Sherman, TX, passed away after a long illness on August 31, 2022. A Celebration of Life Service will be held for family and friends from 5-7pm on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Waldo's Funeral Home, Sherman, TX. Arrangements are by Waldo's Funeral Home. Kathleen was born in Omaha, NE to Rex and Jesse Denham on December 20, 1943. She married Darwin on her 16th birthday in Leshara, NE. After raising four children, she graduated from West Nebraska General School of Nursing in 1984, and went on to receive her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Medical College of Virginia in 1993. After earning her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Tyler in 2003, Kathleen served as the Director of Vocational Nursing Program at Grayson Community College (Van Alstyne Campus) in Dennison, TX, and retired from there in 2013. She received numerous Nursing Awards and Recognition during her 37 years of nursing and teaching and was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She was a member of Parkside Baptist Church, Dennison, TX. Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents and her son, Darwin, Jr. Kathleen is survived by Darwin Wayne Bredberg, Sr. (married 62 years), children Darleen Furrey (Allen) of Little Rock, AK, Laura Walker, of Temple, TX, and Wanda Mills (David) of Phoenix, AZ, her sisters Martha Beck of Norman, OK, and Diane Sullivan, of Idaho.
