Kathleen C. Caparo, 75, of Plymouth Township, passed away unexpectedly on August 30, 2024 after complications from heart surgery. She was the beloved wife of the late Harry C. Caparo, Jr. She was born in West Chester, PA on October 30, 1948 to the late Alfred and Bernice (Jackson) Cumens. Kathie was a graduate of Henderson High School in West Chester, where she was a proud majorette leading the marching band while twirling her baton. She also performed dance and was a dance instructor for some time. She became a beautician and later an Esthetician working for Este Lauder. As a homemaker and mom, she enjoyed baking and cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved her pet dogs through the years, particularly "Ali" the Yorkie. Kathie was very active playing tennis in her younger days and transitioned into an avid golfer, being a member of Cedarbrook Country Club and the former Plymouth Country Club. She enjoyed fitness, theatre, the arts, playing cards, and traveling the world with her husband, family and friends, and was blessed to have a wonderful circle of friends and enjoyed living life abundantly. Kathie was very generous, and she did volunteer work for several organizations and enjoyed giving back to others. She always had a positive and energetic attitude; it was said she "looked at life through rose-colored glasses."
Kathie is survived by her son H. Daniel Caparo & Tina of Ambler, her daughter Lisa Caparo Carlomagno & Guy, Jr. of Conshohocken, 4 grandchildren Gaetano A. Carlomagno & Marissa, Samantha Carlomagno, Nikolette Carlomagno, Taylor D. Caparo, her 2 sisters Jeanne Cumens Knott and Elaine Bernice Cumens, her brother-in-law Charles D. Caparo & Diane, her sister-in-law Maryann Coupe & David, her loving companion of 11 years Paul Lundberg, her Aunt Shirley Woodward, and many cousins, nieces, nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing on Friday, Sept. 6, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 516 Fayette St., Conshohocken and on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024 from 9:00-10:15 a.m. at St. Matthew Church, 219 Fayette St., Conshohocken with the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken.
