"Miss Me But Let Me Go"
When I come to the end of the road
and the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom filled room,
why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little - - but not too long,
and not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that was once shared,
Miss me - - but let me go.
For this is a journey we all must take
and each must go alone.
It's all a part of the Master's plan,
a step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart
go to the friends we know,
And busy your sorrows in doing good deeds-
Miss me - - But Let Me Go.

She passed away Wednesday October 23, 2024, at her in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the Frevert family for later designation.
Kathleen Fay (Echtenkamp) Frevert was born Oct. 15, 1937, in
Wayne, NE to Amos and
Clara (Nickols) Echtenkamp. She was known as 'Kap' by all. Kap was baptized and
confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church. She attended country school and graduated from
Hahn Prep School.
Kathleen and Merlin L. Frevert were united in marriage on January 27, 1957, at Grace
Lutheran Church. They were married for 65 years and lived on the Frevert family farm
throughout their lives.
Kap had many roles in her life. She worked in Quality Control at Waldbaum's, at Wayne
State College as a custodian and then as a mailroom clerk. Before retiring for good, she
drove the van at the Oaks Assisted Living and loved interacting with all the residents.
Faith, Family, Friends, Farm life and Fun were important to Kap. The farm was her
happy place. She raised a garden, chickens and kids – both human and the 4-legged
goat variety. She loved her goats and helped establish the first dairy goat 4-H club in
Wayne County. Kap was most proud of and loved spending time with her family. She would often say, "I
always wanted a big family!" as she reached out with a huge smile and open arms for a
warm loving hug. And then she would feed you. There are so many funny family
memories. One that will always bring a smile is her signature, farewell song, "So long,
farewell, auf wiedersehen to you and you and you and you!"
Kathleen is survived by her children, Brian (Shelley) Frevert of Wayne, Kelly Heithold
(Mary Graham) of Peoria, AZ, Kolette (Dan) Delperdang of Spirit Lake, IA, and Kristin

"It's hard to put into words the void you feel when you lose someone so special.
Grandma Kap was our rock, the heart and soul of our Frevert family. Grandma's life was a testament to resilience, kindness, and devotion. Devotion to
friends, family, community and most importantly to God. We will take comfort in the
memories shared with her and carry her love and spirit forward." - Brittney Fitch
