John Frevert was a good, solid and honest man. He was smart, generous, critical, joyous, funny and appreciated and created irony in every conservation. His career of being a counselor at a university and helping young people come through adolesence with their values defined was a noble way to spend a life. He had the intelligence to do many things, and he used his gifts to help people. He was a friend to those who knew him and will be missed. John O'Sullivan

As John's friend and roommate, I was with him through the death of two of his dogs, Max and Little One. We buried Little One outside the house and cried together. He was in his early 40s when I lived there and established gardens that were meant to endure. When my time at WestGA ended, I moved to Japan and we stayed in touch electronically. We never saw each other again after that. John is still alive in my memory. Still caring for animals, still caring for plants, still caring for people.
