Kathleen Friend, 71 formerly of Anderson, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Parkview Hospital in Ft. Wayne, Indiana following a brief illness.
She was born on August 17, 1953 in Muncie, Indiana to Thomas N. Kenyon and Bettie W. (Whitenack) Kenyon.
Kathleen graduated from Madison Heights High School in 1971 and received an associates degree from Ivy Tech. She retired from Delco Remy America after eleven years of employment. She was also a cosmetologist.
Kathleen enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the Job's Daughters, loved bowling, traveling and going to the casino.
Kathleen is survived by her husband, George William Friend of Ft. Wayne; a daughter, Kelly Friend (Lora) of Ft. Wayne; sister, Katherine (Larry) Humbles of Anderson; grandchildren, Braydon Friend and Aubrey Friend; and nieces and nephews, Madison, Lindsay, and Matthew Humbles. She was also survived by a special family friend, Crystal Eads.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Arvin Byrd; and her sister, Nancy Stewart.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 1, 2025 at Bozell Funeral Homes, Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 East 53rd Street, Anderson, Indiana 46013 officated by Pastor Gary Cable.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at K of P and IOOF Cemetery in Frankton, Indiana.
