Kathleen Heed Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Joseph W. Sorce Funeral Home Inc - West Nyack on Feb. 18, 2024.
Kathleen Rose (Dwyer) Heed passed away February 16th, surrounded by loved ones, at 85 years old.
Kathy was born on May 6th, 1938 to Kay (Rebholz) and Robert Dwyer in New York City. She enjoyed a close relationship with her sister Maureen throughout her life.
In 1962, Kathy married Edward Heed Sr. They enjoyed a loving forty seven year marriage until Ed's passing in 2009.
Throughout her life, Kathy's infectious laugh and warm smile brightened any room, whether she was with friends, neighbors, coworkers, or family. She worked tirelessly to ensure those around her felt seen, loved, and appreciated.
Kathy had a lifelong love for learning and discovery, always ready to discuss and research history, travel, or the stock market.
A devout Catholic, Kathy took an active part in her community at St. Anthony's Parish for fifty eight years.
Kathy was at her happiest when she spent time with her family, whether it was arts and crafts with her grandchildren, laughs with family, or enjoying views of the ocean.
Kathy is remembered as a loving wife to the late Edward Sr., and a devoted mother to her son Edward Jr. and late daughter Maureen. She is survived by her son Edward (Janet), her sister Maureen (James), her six grandchildren Danielle, Lynn, Kaitlyn, Claire, Connor, and Kelly, and her many nieces and nephews.
Visitations for family, friends, and loved ones are scheduled for Tuesday, February 20th from 3-5PM and 7-9PM at Joseph W. Sorce Funeral Home in West Nyack, NY. Her funeral Mass will be held at 10am Wednesday, February 21st at St. Anthony's in Nanuet. Kathy will be laid to rest at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery in East Hampton, NY.
The family would like to express its deepest gratitude for the fine care, love, and compassion given by the staff at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx.
