Kathy Inman died August 14, 2025, at age 75, from complications during open heart surgery. She was the world’s greatest wife, mother and grandmother.
Kathy was born on June 21, 1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Clarence and Adeline Edwards. On August 18, 1967, she married her high school sweetheart, Steve Inman.
Kathy attended East High School and later graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from Cal State Fullerton. She was a Social Services Supervisor for the County of Orange for many years, retiring in 2015.
One of the most notable things about Kathy was her love for children. She seemed to live for her kids and then her grandkids. She attended countless school events and performances, baseball games, graduations, and birthday parties whether near or out of state. She would frequently have lengthy phone calls with her grandchildren who called her often, and she loved every moment she could have with them. She showered each grandchild with her profound love for them and ended each call with “love you forever xoxo” In every conversation about family she would remark how incredibly proud she was of each of them. In her professional life, she held babies and nurtured children at Orangewood, worked for a number of years at Los Naranjos Elementary School in Irvine and worked as a Preschool Director. At church she spent a number of years as President of the children’s Primary and as a seminary teacher for high school students; and at home she led a troop of Girl Scouts and hosted many of her kids’ friends, who she welcomed and cared about.
In recent years, Kathy endured a number of health conditions that she kept mostly private while never complaining or wanting anyone to worry about her. She continued to live a life of service to others through it all, doing things for family and friends right up until the day of her passing.
Kathy was preceded in death by her daughter, Mosha; her parents, Clarence and Adeline Edwards; her brothers Leland and James, and her sisters Dianne and Denise. She is survived by her husband, Steve Inman; her children Steve Inman (Julie) and Jennifer Morrison (Matt); her grandchildren Cheyenne Inman, Rebecca Inman, Carter Morrison, Kat Morrison, Savannah Inman and Benjamin Inman; her sister Nancy; and a large extended family.
A funeral will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 23 Lake Rd., Irvine, CA.
