Of Dorchester, formerly of Leitra, Glenamaddy, Co. Galway, Ireland, died at home surrounded by her loving family on July 11, 2025.
Loving mother of Thomas and his wife Barbara Joyce of Billerica, Michael Joyce of Dorchester, Ann Marie and her husband Daniel Mastrogiacomo of Derry, NH, and Kevin Joyce of Dorchester.
Cherished “Nana” of Sean Joyce, Michael and his wife Sophia Mastrogiacomo, and Krista Mastrogiacomo.
Great-grandmother of Chloe Mastrogiacomo.
Daughter of the late Thomas Smith and Annie Mae (Heneghan) Smith.
Sister of Sr. Elizabeth Smith of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, of Texas, Oliver and his wife Mary Smith of Ireland, Anne and her husband Martin Conneally of Ireland, Kevin Smith of Reading, Maureen Kearney of Ireland, and the late John Smith, Carmel Mannion, and Patrick Smith.
Dear friend of Bridget McDonough of Braintree, and Ollie and Karen Carr of Dorchester.
Kathleen is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Kathleen’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the Murphy Funeral Home, 1020 Dorchester Ave., DORCHESTER, on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Ambrose Church, 240 Adams Street, Dorchester, on Wednesday morning, July 16, 2025, at 10:00 A.M.
Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Kathleen’s memory may be made to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Dorchester, 1135 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester, MA 02125.
