Kathleen Ann (Meiers) Kasperbauer
September 26, 1944 - November 29, 2025
Kathleen Ann Kasperbauer, 81, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29, 2025 surrounded by her family.
Born in Carroll, Iowa, to Isabelle Ann (Vollmer) Meiers and John David Meiers, Kathleen grew up with her older sister, Karen and younger brother, Ed. She graduated from Manning High School in 1962 and later worked for the Iowa State Extension Office in Carroll and Boys Town in Omaha.
In 1968, she married Patrick Jerome Kasperbauer, and together they shared 20 years of military life, living in nine states and South Korea. Wherever they went, Kathleen made every house a home with warmth, steadiness, and love. Later in life, she worked for Bluffs Run Casino and Home Instead, caring for others.
Kathleen and Patrick were blessed with four children: Kim, Jenny, Patrick, and Joey. Her family grew to include Kim's wife, Shellie Myers, Jenny's husband, Mark Vacanti, Joey's wife, Amy; and her cherished grandchildren, Tarentino (Anna) Vacanti, Domenic (Misa) Kawamitsu Vacanti, Luca Vacanti, and Isabelle Kasperbauer (Kim and Shellie's daughter). She was also blessed with a great-granddaughter, Josephine Vacanti (Taren and Anna's daughter).
A devoted Catholic, Kathleen supported many charities and lived her faith through kindness, humility, and service to others. She was proud of her grandchildren, loved cheering for them at their events (loudly), and never missed an opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments. Kathleen enjoyed watching sports-especially football-and was always ready to root for Iowa State and Iowa; and of course anyone playing Nebraska.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick; her children, Kim, Patrick, and Joey; and her parents, Isabelle and John Meiers.
Though petite, her presence was unmistakable, and her impact on those around her was immeasurable. She was funny, trustworthy, generous, and fiercely loyal. She will be deeply missed by all.
Kathleen's life was a true example of quiet strength, unwavering love, and the powerful impact of a gentle heart. Her memory will forever remain a blessing.
Recitation of the Rosary Saturday at 9:30 a.m., with visitation to follow until 11 a.m. Funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m., all at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Burial in Lewis Township Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at St. Peter's Kottas Hall.
