Kathleen "Kathy" May Holbeck

Age 81, of Duluth died peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Friday, January 5, 2024. She was born May 25, 1942 to George and Helen (Vogel) Koenig in Superior, Wisconsin, where she grew up and graduated from high school in 1959. Kathy was employed as an Avon Representative in the Lakeside area and a housekeeper at the Voyager Hotel in Duluth. Kathy was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Two Harbors. She loved spending time at the cabin with her dogs, family and friends, especially her best friend, Cathy Sunde of Duluth.

Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Roger E Holbeck; her parents, George and Helen Koenig; and her siblings, George Koenig, Helen (Sis) and Tom Perry, Donald and Marie Koenig, William (Bill) and Pat Koenig, Mary Androsky and Edward Koenig.

Kathy is survived by sister-in-law, Connie Koenig; her four sons, James Holbeck of Duluth, MN, Wayne (Vickie) Holbeck of Corcoran, MN, Daniel (Jean) Holbeck of Harris, MN and Mark (Danielle) Holbeck of Two Harbors; her four grandchildren, Brianna (fiancé Tim Crossmon) Holbeck of Duluth, Madalyn (Tim) Pehoski of Duluth, Shelby Holbeck of Proctor (Miles Thomasen of Two Harbors) and, Kortney Kuehl (Tyler Helget) of Hermantown; along with two great grandchildren, Ben Strunk and Mayson Helget. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved and laughed with her.

Pallbearers will be the four sons, James, Wayne, Daniel and Mark.

Visitation will be at Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 East Second Street, Duluth, MN, on Friday, January 19, 2024 between 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St Michael’s Catholic Church, 4901 East Superior Street, Duluth, MN, on Saturday, January 20, 2024, with Visitation at 10:00 am and a Mass at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Two Harbors.
