Kathleen “Kathy” (Brennan) Mullen, 75, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 30, 2023. She was surrounded by her five children and husband of 55 years, Mike Mullen.
Kathy was born September 8, 1948, the daughter of Helen and Harold Brennan. She grew up on West Eighth Street in Cincinnati and attended St. William Parish and Seton High School. In true westside fashion, she met Mike, the love of her life, at Phillips Swim Club as a teen. The two created a love story which included their 5 children: Kelly (Ami), Tim, Ryan (Robyn), Erin Wainscott (Joel) and Kevin (Andy).
Kathy also adored her eight grandchildren: Olivia, Cooper, Paige, Lucy, Quinn, Jett, Griffin and A.J. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her large family.
Kathy was an outstanding mother to her 5 children and a loving wife to her husband Mike. They shared countless adventures and joys, including their recent retirement years with their friends in Cincinnati, Ohio and at Pelican Sound in Estero, Florida. Their bond was an inspiration to all who knew them, a true example of love and commitment.
In her spare time, Kathy enjoyed golfing, shopping, dining with friends and family, and taking golf cart rides with Mike. She loved having special dinners with her family and laying poolside on Sunday afternoons.
Kathy's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. After her brain aneurysm, she lived the last 10 years of her life with gratitude and strength to enjoy every day. She strived to live every moment with a smile. She will be fondly remembered for her unwavering love for family, her love of good skin care, a good dirty martini, and her fearless ability to tell it like it is.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Thursday, January 4th, from 5 PM to 8 PM at Dalbert, Woodruff, and Isenogle Funeral Home.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM Friday, January 5th at St. William Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Seton High School in Kathy's honor. Click here to donate
