Kathleen Mauch Obituary

Kathleen A. Mauch
December 16, 1947 - August 27, 2025
Kathleen Mauch, 77, of Mantador, ND passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025.
Kathy was an active and happy-go-lucky member of any community or organization she was a part of, and took great passion in volunteering wherever there was a need. She loved the lake, travel, and time with friends; it seemed she was always on the go. Although a stroke took many of her physical capabilities in 2010, it did not take her heart nor her mind. From that point forward, she lived hand-in-hand with her husband of 57 Years, taking care and watching out for each other.
Kathy had four children, yet she was a mom to so many more. Whether that was other family, her kid's friends, or many of the others to enter her life. Her home was always meticulous and ready for the countless guests of all ages that would walk through the door.
Kathy was born on December 16, 1947, in Wheaton, MN, and graduated from Hankinson High School in 1965. Kathy married Richard Mauch in Mantador, ND on February 3rd, 1968. In 1971, they began establishing and giving their all to their future lives on the family farm. As time passed, she also spent endless hours on the road to ensure she never missed one of her kid's games or activities or as many of her grandchildren's activities as she was able to; she could always be found cheering them on.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Richard; and her four children, Jody (Bob) Bucholz of West Fargo, ND, Scott (Lisa) Mauch of Marshall, MN, Jason (Erica) Mauch of Jefferson, SD, and Eric (Jen) Mauch of Horace, ND; her sisters, Sharon Quam, Debbie Johnson, and Kristi McLaughlin.
Kathy's pride and joy were her 15 grandchildren: Ryan (Kaila), Ali, Courtney (Jered), Sydney, Tucker, Brooklyn, Kyler, Emersyn, Sadie, Ryker, Ruby, Savannah, Colby, Milo, Piper; and one great-grandchild, Easton.
For all of Kathy's amazing qualities, she was foremost a child of Jesus, and will be joining her mother, Delphine Hermanson, father, Marcus Borchardt, and sister, Shirley Oliver in their eternal home.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 31, 2025 at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home in Wahpeton, ND, at 5 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Her funeral service will be held at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Mantador, ND beginning at 10 a.m., with visitation one hour before, on Monday, September 1st, followed by a social at the Mantador VFW.
