Kathleen Neutgens Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Billman-Hunt Funeral Chapel - Minneapolis on Jan. 8, 2026.
Kathleen Marie Neutgens was born on February 6, 1948 to George and Luana (Faust) Ballis in St. Paul, Minnesota.

She attended St. Rose of Lima Elementary in Roseville, MN, completing her education there through the eighth grade. Kathe continued her studies at Alexander Ramsey High School in Roseville, graduating in 1966, and later earned her degree in Elementary Education and Art from St. Cloud State College in 1971.

In 1969, Kathe met Roger Neutgens, and the two were married on November 20, 1970. Kathleen dedicated 18 years to teaching part-time Art and elementary education at Olivia/BOLD schools, while also doing interior painting and raising her four children.

Kathe's life journey took her from Sleepy Eye, where she lived after her marriage, to Olivia in 1977, and eventually to Roseville in 2010.

Her hobbies reflected her creative spirit and love for family-she enjoyed arts and crafts, sewing, reading, cooking, watching her grandchildren play sports, and spending time with loved ones at the family cabin.

Kathe will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, and devotion to her family and community.

Kathe Passed away on January 4, 2026 at Wealshire of Bloomington at the age of 77.

Kathe is survived by her husband, Roger, of Roseville; her children, Alex (Doris) Neutgens of Little Canada, Bridget (Craig) MacBean of Greenwood, Gina (Matt) Oelschlager of Edina, and Josh (Lisa) Neutgens of Sacred Heart; and twelve beloved grandchildren: Abigail, Julia, Trevor and Emma Neutgens, Kaitlyn, John and George MacBean, Ethan, Charlie and Lily Oelschlager and Libby and Matilda Neutgens. Kathe is also survived by her four sisters, Sue (Bill) Martin, Nancy (Bill) Burback), Patsy (Rick) Morphew and Janet (John) Lestock.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to staff at Wealshire of Bloomington for the excellent care provided to Kathe over the last three years.

We have spent a few times with Kathy and Rodger. I do remember Kathy being a very talented lady. Beautiful family. Now she is at peace with God. We spent time at the service and lunch, talked to a few of her family. Rodgers so very sorry for your loss. Beautiful day, sun out but cold. She's looking down and would be very proud of her family . Such tradegy is so hard I am sure. Looking around lots of support ready for the next steps.

I´m so sorry to hear of Kathy´s death. Her parents, George and Luana, were dear friends of my parents, Greg and Lorraine Powers, since they were all children. George was my mom´s paperboy. We have many pictures of the family, some of them taken of Luana and Susan while George was in the army during World War II. We got together with the Ballises often during my childhood. Kathy and I were the same age. My deepest sympathy goes out to her sisters, Susan, Nancy, Patsy, and Jannie.
