Belleville, Illinois - Kathleen A. Scherpe, nee Hutter, 71, of Belleville, IL, born Tuesday, May 29, 1951, in St. Louis, MO, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL.
Kathleen was a retired nurse who worked 30 years at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was a very active member at Grace Church in Fairview Heights, IL participating in The Journey to Bethlehem, Summer Sack Lunch Programs and Funeral Luncheons.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas E. Hutter Sr.; brother, Thomas E. Hutter Jr. and daughter, Jeri A. Brown.
Surviving are her husband, Don Scherpe of Belleville, IL; mother, Margaret, nee Hougland, Hutter of Belleville, IL; daughter, Tracey (Brad) Pedersen of Edwardsville, IL and Sarah (Cory) Walsh of Union, MO; grandchildren, Courtney Gardner, Aubrey Williams, Pyper Pedersen, Hunter Walsh, Colt Walsh and Berkley Walsh; great granddaughter, Sophia Lynn Gardner; uncle, James (Delphia) Hougland from Columbia, IL; many dear family and friends; and beloved bloodhound, Pippy.
The family would like to give special thanks to everyone that cared for her from Memorial Hospital, Barnes Hospital, Dialysis, and the liver and kidney transplant team at Barnes.

Visitation: Visitation from 2:00 - 7:00 pm, Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, IL.
Funeral: Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, August 22, 2022 at Grace Church, with Pastors Hal Santos and Phill Silsby officiating. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
